The 6 Days Camel Trek Zagora is an immersive desert adventure that takes you deep into the Sahara Desert. Day 1: Zagora – Erg Lihoudi – Mozmo
Morning transfer from Zagora to Erg Lihoudi. Meet your camel team and begin the trek. Evening around the fire with nomadic songs and dances. Overnight in tents.
Day 2: Mozmo – Oued Naam – Erg Region
Walk across a dried lake and stop for lunch at Loitide. Continue into the dune landscapes before camping under the stars.
Day 3: Erg Region – Bartam
The caravan moves deeper into the Sahara. At sunset, share a tea ceremony and tajine with your camel drivers. Night in a desert bivouac.
Day 4: Bartam – Oued Laatach
Trek towards Oued Laatach, known as “the river of thirst.” Picnic lunch en route. Evening tea and dinner by the campfire.
Day 5: Nomadic Desert Life
Spend the day walking or riding your camel. Learn about desert survival, share meals, and enjoy Sahrawi hospitality around the fire.
Day 6: Return to M’Hamid – Zagora
After breakfast, trek back to M’Hamid and transfer to Zagora. End of the tour around midday.

Morning transfer by taxi from Zagora through the Draa Valley to Erg Lihoudi. Meet your camel drivers and begin the trek towards Zoula. Camp is set up near small dunes. Dinner with a nomadic evening of traditional Sahrawi songs and dances. Overnight in tents.
Departure at 8h. Walk for about 3 hours across a dry lake (reg). Lunch at Loitide, then continue in the afternoon to reach the dune landscapes (erg). Dinner and overnight in tents or under the stars.
Early morning departure towards Bartam. Lunch en route. In the afternoon, the caravan continues deeper into the dunes. At sunset, enjoy a tea ceremony before preparing a tajine with your camel guides. Dinner and night in the bivouac.
Breakfast at sunrise, then trekking towards Oued Laatach (“the river of thirst”). Picnic lunch in the desert. Afternoon tea break on the sand dunes. Dinner under the stars and overnight in tents.
Continue your trek across dunes and hammada with your caravan. Trekking is done on foot or by camel according to your choice. Local camel drivers prepare meals on-site: tajine, Moroccan salads, fresh fruits, tea, and bread baked in the sand. Walking time: 5–6 hours per day, no technical difficulty. Evening around the fire, dinner, and overnight in tents.
After breakfast, the caravan returns to M’Hamid. Transfer back to Zagora around 11:00. End of the trek. This 6-day desert immersion will leave you with unforgettable memories of the nomadic Sahara lifestyle.
Light, comfortable clothes for the day, warm layers for the evening, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and good walking shoes. A flashlight and personal toiletries are also recommended.
