Embark on an unforgettable 3-day Sahara Desert tour from M’hamid to Erg Chigaga, the largest and most remote dune area in Morocco. This unique journey takes you deep into the desert, far from the crowds, where only 4×4 vehicles and camels can travel.
Departing from M’hamid El Ghizlane — the last village before the Sahara begins — you’ll travel by 4×4 Landcruiser with an experienced local driver. Along the way, you’ll explore stunning desert landscapes, including golden dunes, rocky plains (reg), and stone plateaus (hamada). You might even spot wild camels and donkeys.
After approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of off-road driving, you’ll reach the Erg Chigaga dunes. Here, you’ll settle into a traditional Berber desert camp at the foot of the high dunes. Enjoy a relaxing tea ceremony, a camel ride at sunset, and optional sandboarding for adventurous travelers.
At night, savor a delicious 3-course Moroccan dinner and gather around the campfire for live nomadic music under the stars. You can sleep in a comfortable private tent or, for a more magical experience, under the open desert sky.
In the morning, enjoy breakfast at the camp and take in the peaceful desert sunrise before returning to M’hamid.
