Your 5 Days tour from Marrakech will start with the pick up from airport and then to the hotel for preparation of the tour. As we start crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas before going any further. The picturesque rough sceneries of this site are incredible and this route provides a sneak preview into the life of the berber people as one passes through the beautiful Berber villages on route. Following this, the spectacularly situated village of Ait Ben Haddou – a UNESCO listed site – rises before you, its kasbah-styled buildings instantly recognisable. This old-style village has also been used as the shooting location of several warmly acclaimed movies; therefore, it is another great cultural site you should not miss. From Ait Ben Haddou your tour will proceed to Ouarzazate commonly known as the ‘door of the desert’. Here, you will explore Taourirt Kasbah, a great architectural masterpiece and testify the history of this terrible desert city magnificently located in middle of nothingness. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
The next day in the morning the desert tour proceeds as you push deeper into the Sahara towards the Erg Chegaga Dunes. En-route, the Draa Valley can be seen with green palm groves; with sun-baked, conventional kasbahs dotting the entire area. It is possible to buy green pottery products at the village’s pottery factories; one can also visit the Quranic library and a medressa installed in the village for historical and culturalvalue. Further on you go, the environment changes to the desert, and you will get to the Erg Chegaga sand dunes. Here you start a one-hour camel ride into the deep sands of the Sahara to experience the incredible sunset over the sands. For this day of our Moroccan trip, you will then follow our guide to the Erg Chegaga dunes, where the feeling of seeing a sunrise over the horizon is priceless. Following breakfast, you will start the exodus out of the desert with the interesting sights to see while traveling on the Paris-Dakar Rally path. The tour will take approximately three hours during which you will go through sandy soil of the Sahara desert. Further on you will have a break in Taznakht – a village famous for its beautiful local rugs and Berber tribes’ activity, where one can consider buying one of such works. Furthermore, from there, the Authentic Morocco tour goes on rocky roads of the Anti Atlas mountain furniture, beautiful combination of mountains, oasis and desert. Further on you will arrive in the historical city of Taroudant which is often called the “Grandmother of Marrakech” for similarities of architecture. Long overshadowed by its flamboyant neighbors to the east, this quiet coastal settlement in southern Morocco packs some of the region’s best-preserved city walls, bustling souks, and remarkable architectural heritage dating back to the golden age of the Sa’dian dynasty. Based on itinerary of the fourth day, you will be leaving an inland ancient city of Taroudant before getting to the Atlantic Coast and the wonderful you of Essaouira. The route passes through zones containing Argan trees and from where you can watch goats climb the trees in the search of fruits and berries peculiar to this area. Upon arriving in Essaouira, which is an art filled and more relaxed coastal town, you will have the rest of the afternoon to discover the historic city also known as the medina of Essaouira, the city is a UNESCO world heritage site. Furthermore, Try to walk around the tight lanes, look at the blue and white façade, and move around the fish Mong and see the fishermen landing the fishes they had caught in the sea. Also, Essaouira specifically has fresh seafood and you can try a fine food at the sea side eating joint. Overnight in Essaouira.
You will spend your relaxed morning discovering more of Essaouira before driving back to Marrakech. During the drive, you’ll have a chance to visit a cooperation that produces its famous Argan oil, using traditional ways. Moreover, this drive offers a perfect moment to discuss how many different kinds of terrains and what kind of feelings you have met during the tour. But, a gratuitous mention of Wi-Fi connectivity there as a selling point is misleading as it may be nonexistent at the Erg Chegaga Desert or very much sporadic as to offer you a true feel of the desert solitude.
