Depart from Marrakech to Zagora Desert Tours the bustling city of Marrakech, traveling through the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass. Along the way, stop at the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou, a historic fortified village featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
From there, the route leads through Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves and ancient kasbahs, before reaching the peaceful dunes of Zagora.
Spend the evening under the stars at a traditional Berber desert camp. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset and a hearty Moroccan dinner accompanied by local music around the campfire.
Departure at 8:00 AM from your hotel in Marrakech by 4x4, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass with its Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. From Ouarzazate, continue via the Tizi-n-Tiniffift pass to reach Agdez. Lunch on the way. Travel through the Draa Valley, admiring the fortified villages and palm groves. Upon arrival in Zagora, embark on a camel trek towards the Nekhla dunes, where your camp is set up. After about an hour on camelback, arrive in time to enjoy the stunning desert sunset. Dinner and overnight at the camp, with an evening of traditional Saharan songs.
After breakfast in the desert, return to Zagora on camelback, then head back to Marrakech. The route from Zagora to Agdz follows the Draa Valley, lined with palm groves, fields, and numerous earthen villages. Continue through the Anti-Atlas, also known as the "Black Mountains," to Ait Ben Haddou for lunch and a visit to the kasbah. In the afternoon, continue the drive to Marrakech via the Tichka pass. Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the late afternoon, around 6:00 PM.
