We organize this 4 days desert trek with departures from just two participants. So you can start on the date that suits you best. Whether you are a couple, friends, or a small group, we can arrange a private experience for you.
In short, this 4 days desert trek is perfect for anyone looking for a real Sahara adventure. It combines camel trekking, desert camping, local culture, and unforgettable landscapes. Above all, it offers a peaceful escape into one of the most beautiful places in Morocco.
We will depart early from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate, passing through the Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco at 2,260 meters altitude. We will then descend into the beautiful Drâa Valley, with its ksours (fortified villages) and kasbahs. Upon arrival in Ouled Driss, we will meet the team of camel handlers. Dinner and overnight stay in a tent in the desert. 450 km covered during the day.
Our trek will head towards Lahnaniche. We will cross a stunning desert plateau and pass by the kasbah and its very old houses, which are true testimonies to human settlement in this region. We will have lunch in the shade of tamarisk trees. After 1.5 hours of walking, we will arrive at our campsite on the Lahnaniche dunes. We will walk for 5 hours during the day.
After breakfast, we will walk along the dunes in the Erg. Lunch will be prepared by our cook in the shade of palm trees. We will continue our trek to the edge of the city of M’hamid and the palm groves of Ras Nkhal. Set up our campsite for the night, either under the tent or under the stars. We will walk for 5.5 hours during the day.
Transfer back to Marrakech with a stop in Tamegroute to visit its pottery and ancient Quranic library. Lunch will be on the road. Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
