About this tour

7 Days Sahara Desert Trekking in Morocco involves walking through the vast dunes of southern Morocco with a professional nomadic guide and camel handlers. A caravan of camels carries your luggage, allowing you to focus on the journey.

You will experience the fascinating expanse of the desert, encounter nomads in unique ways, and observe the animal and plant life. This trek offers an opportunity to relax and enjoy the tranquility, completely disconnecting from civilization. The silence of the heart of the great Moroccan Sahara desert provides an unforgettable setting, with breathtakiunrises and sunsets that will stay with you forever.

During the trek, you live according to the rhythm of the sun, with each person moving at their own pace, accompanied by the camel handlers. Before each stage, they gather the camels, which have fed on desert shrubs during the night. They also collect firewood, prepare tea, and bake bread in the sand. You sleep under the stars, in traditional tents, which adds to the adventure and authenticity of the experience.

You will also taste delicious Moroccan cuisine, prepared by the camel handlers. Regular breaks punctuate your walk, giving you time to eat, drink, observe, and contemplate the desert landscape.

7 Days Sahara Desert Trekking in Morocco is available from mid-September to mid-May, when the moderate temperature makes the experience enjoyable and comfortable for a camel trek. We organize treks starting with just two participants, on the date of your choice. Whether you are looking for a short adventure or a longer journey, this trek offers an unforgettable experience

7 Days of Magic in the Sahara Desert

I had a 7-day hike to Erg Chegaga and back with 5 fellow travelers, accompanied by our amazing team: Abdellah, Mohamed, Yassine, and the dromedaries. It was truly a wonderful experience. We crossed the endless sea of dunes, the rocky desert with fossils, old abandoned wells and ruins, colorful flowers, curious desert plants, and admired the breathtaking night skies full of stars. Along the way we even spotted some exotic animals. Every day brought something new and magical. What made the journey even more special were the interactions with our guides. Abdellah shared fascinating insights about life in the desert, Mohamed and Yassine always brought good energy and joy to the group, and then there was Chef – the man who made everything so easy, delightful, and fun. He was incredibly kind, and I’ll let you discover him yourself when you join the trip! We also enjoyed delicious food every day, including traditional sand-bread baked in the desert. Nights around the fire with songs and stories were unforgettable, and on the last evening, we even had a fun football match with our guides – a perfect way to end the adventure. The hike was comfortable: the dromedaries carried our luggage, the guides prepared the camp, and we rested during the hottest hours of the day. We usually walked around 15 km per day, but the team was flexible and always attentive to our needs. Overall, this 7-day desert trek was a life enriching journey filled with beauty, culture, and unforgettable memories. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to truly experience the Sahara, live a little adventure, and embrace the simple life for a few days.

Another exciting adventure with Exodus

Another exciting adventure with this tour company. Our trip was at the end of April/beginning of May and it was very hot !!!! I'm told June/July is even hotter. Phew !!!!Despite this I loved every minute of it.It was a very busy trip but extremely well organised. I very much liked the additional drink stops as it was so very hot. Home made chilled lime was just the thing. I also very much liked Lam pre-booking the meals and us all going together. He found some wonderful places and we had delicious fresh food. There just isn't time to find somewhere yourself. This really worked well.We were lucky to be with a super group of people. Everyone happy and smiling and enjoying every moment..................well................except a few of the group who did get a bit sore. Please do get yourself some chamois butter and padded pants. It works a treat. It worked well having all the cycling in the beginning. The train was much better than I had expected and I slept like a log !!! Whale Island and Halong Bay were real treats and I would have loved more time there. But, overall, the trip was perfect for timing as it kept us within the 15 day Visa limit and we saw and did so much.Despite being informed in writing by the tour operator that our big holdalls/suitcase stays with us all the time......this was not the case. You do need to have a rucksack or flat pack bag big enough for the one and two night stays (Whale Island and Halong Bay). In fact......it works very well to just take small luggage. Much easier to do once you get your head around it.I found the cycling easy compared with other trips I've done but I do feel it is right to be called a Level 3. Everyone cycles slightly differently and there is always a bit of a mix of abilities........which makes for a good group cycle I think.

Good 'ole Exodus!

An interesting blend of Vietnam from north to south including an o/n sleeper train. The success and enjoyment of these trips is usually down to the blend of fellow travellers and team leader and this one was no different. The weather, early season, was mixed with a little more rain and cloud than hoped for but did not detract from the enjoyment but a little more sunshine would have enhanced the countryside. A read of the brochure and trip notes will give a very accurate picture of the breadth and variety of the trip. The daily riding distances are mainly governed by the fitness of the participants and their ability to cover the miles in a reasonable time and for the first time in my experience of 7 trips we were delayed by some participants who frankly were not cycling fit and I wonder if they had read and understood the pre - trip advice!
