Your camel handlers, born into the desert, share the customs of Sahara nomads. Each morning, they gather camels that have fed overnight on desert shrubs. They prepare mint tea, bake bread in the sand, and collect firewood for evening meals. Sleeping under star-filled skies or in traditional tents connects you to the rhythm of the desert. Your adventure begins with an early departure from Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tichka Pass at 2,260 m. The journey offers breathtaking views before descending into the lush Drâa Valley, lined with palm groves, kasbahs, and fortified villages. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Ouled Driss, where you meet your camel team. Dinner is served in camp before your first night in the desert under a star-filled sky
After breakfast, your camel trek begins across wide desert plateaus. Along the way, you pass ancient kasbahs and traditional houses that tell the story of life in this region for centuries. A picnic lunch is prepared under the shade of tamarisk trees. In the afternoon, you continue toward the golden Lahnaniche dunes, where the camp is set up. As the sun sets over the dunes, enjoy dinner and spend the night in a traditional desert camp.
Wake up to the calm of the Sahara before continuing your trek along the dunes of the Erg. After several hours of walking, you stop beneath palm trees for a freshly prepared lunch. The caravan then continues toward the palm groves of Ras Nkhal, near the edge of M’hamid. Tonight, your camp is set up between dunes and palm groves, offering a magical setting for stargazing and enjoying the peaceful silence of the desert.
After breakfast, you say farewell to your camel handlers and begin the return journey. On the way, stop at Tamegroute, known for its ancient Quranic library and traditional green pottery workshops. Continue through Zagora and Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas once more. Arrival in Marrakech is scheduled for late afternoon, bringing your Sahara adventure to an end with unforgettable memories
