Our3 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga Sahara Adventure and Todra Gorges is the perfect way to explore Morocco’s desert, mountains, and Berber culture. This short but exciting journey combines adventure, authentic traditions, and breathtaking scenery.
On the first day, you will leave Fes early in the morning. The drive takes you across the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Then, you will stop in Azrou to see the wild Barbary macaque monkeys in the cedar forest. Afterward, continue to Midelt for lunch before traveling through the Ziz Valley, lined with palm groves. In the late afternoon, arrive at the dramatic Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs rise high above the river. Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse complete the day.
The second day brings you further south toward Erfoud, famous for fossils and dates. Next, you will reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, a camel ride takes you across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, enjoy magical views before arriving at your desert camp. After dinner, relax under a star-filled sky with traditional music around the fire.
On the third day, you will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. Then, begin the journey back to Fes, passing again through the Ziz Valley and Berber villages. Finally, cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and arrive in Fes in the evening.

Early morning departure from your hotel/riad in Fes towards the south of Morocco. We drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing the ski resort of Ifrane and stopping at Azrou, an important Berber village known for its cedar wood crafts. We continue through the cedar forest, home to wild Barbary monkeys, before reaching Midelt, where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we cross beautiful mountain landscapes and reach the dramatic Todra Gorges, famous for their towering canyon walls. Dinner and overnight in a charming guesthouse at Todra.
After breakfast, we drive along the Ziz Valley, lined with thousands of date palms and traditional Berber villages. Stop for lunch in Erfoud, known for its fossils and dates. In the afternoon, we reach Merzouga and the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Camel trekking into the desert allows you to admire the sunset over the golden dunes. Dinner and overnight in a nomadic desert camp, with music around the fire under the starry sky.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, ride camels (or transfer by 4x4) back to Merzouga. We drive north via Errachidia, passing again through the beautiful Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas. Stop for lunch in Midelt before continuing through Azrou and Ifrane. Arrival in Fes in the evening (around 18h–19h) and transfer to your hotel or riad.
